The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic will propose to the government for another year to extend the current ban on issuing visas to citizens of Russia and Belarus – until March 31, 2024. In addition, the agency wants to expand this ban on Russians and Belarusians with dual citizenship. This, with reference to the ČTK agency, is reported by vinegret.cz.
If it is adopted, then citizens of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, who simultaneously hold the citizenship of another country, will not be able to obtain a Czech visa and a long-term residence permit, except for humanitarian and some other cases.
Recall that the Czech Republic stopped issuing visas and residence permits to Russians immediately after the start of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
How the Czech border guards will determine the presence of Russian or Belarusian citizenship in holders of Irish passports is not specified.
