Representatives of the Ministry of Road and Transport Development and the General Directorate of Civil Aviation held a meeting with representatives of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of Turkey.

The air carriers designated by both parties will operate up to 7 flights per week on Istanbul-Ulaanbaatar route and up to 5 flights per week on Ankara and Antalya routes.

One air carrier previously had the right to operate flights between the two countries, but now the parties agreed that a number of air carriers will have the right to fly.

The air carriers will organize flights to third countries by code sharing or sharing travel numbers. Code sharing is an agreement between airlines that allows them to use each other’s planes.

MIAT Joint Stock Company and Turkish Airlines will initially operate flights to Amsterdam, Barcelona, Brussels, Rome, Frankfurt, Washington, Chicago, Vienna, Warsaw and Zurich under a code sharing agreement. According to the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of Mongolia, it is possible to travel to countries like the US at a low cost by negotiating the same arrangements with other countries.
