Turkish Occupation Establishes New Settlement in Occupied Afrin

The Turkish occupation state has established a new settlement near the center of the occupied city of Afrin, with the support of the so-called International Relief and Development Authority “Ansar”.

The Turkish occupation state continues to establish settlements in the villages and districts of the occupied Afrin canton, with the aim of changing its demography and settling the families of mercenaries affiliated with the Turkish occupation and settlers.

Yesterday, the so-called “Local Council” affiliated with the Turkish occupation announced the opening of a new settlement in the name of “Al-Amal 2” village, near the center of the occupied city of Afrin, with the support and funding of the so-called International Relief and Development Authority “Ansar”.

The new settlement includes 500 housing units, according to the so-called “local council” of the Turkish occupation.

It is noteworthy that the Turkish occupation had established another settlement called “Land of Hope” in 2021 with the support of the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management (AFAD) and the so-called International Relief Organization “Anser”, in the village of Kafr Kalbin in the countryside of the occupied Azaz region in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

The first steps of the Turkish occupation to build settlements in occupied Afrin, on November 15, 2018, through the establishment of a settlement complex called “Al-Qarya Al-Shamiyya” in reference to the mercenaries of the “Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyya” of the Turkish occupation, south of the city of Afrin.

It is worth noting that the Turkish occupation state has established over 5 years more than 25 settlements in occupied Afrin.

The occupation seeks to change the demography of the region, Turkify it, and strip it from the entire Syrian geography, in service of the plan to restore the borders of the “Mili Pact” from the Mediterranean Sea in the west to Mosul in the east, and to revive the defunct “Ottomanism”.
